FedGroup Berg & Bush 'Descent'
Entries for the 3 day FedGroup Berg and Bush Descent on 28th,29th, and 30th
October 2011 will open to past participants on the 1st June 2011 at 10h00.
Entries for riders on the waiting list and new riders
will open on 10th June at 10h00
The FedGroup Berg and Bush ‘Descent’ (voted SA’s top race in 2009) starts in the
Northern Drakensberg near Sterkfontein Dam and ends in Winterton, KZN.
Registration takes place at Little Switzerland on Thursday the 27th October, half way up Oliviershoek Pass, Northern Drakensberg.
- On Day 1 cyclists will enjoy the exhilarating descent from the Free state, dropping down the escarpment into the KZN Valleys and ending at Emseni Camp on the banks of the Tugela River.
- Day 2 is a circular route through Spionkop game reserve with a fun boat crossing across Spionkop dam, through thornveld and farms and finishing with a testing climb up Spionkop mountain to end again at Emseni.
- Day 3 follows meandering cattle paths around an oxbow in the Tugela River and after a zany zip line ends up in the quaint town of Winterton.
